CRASH in Action
This is our youth mission team. There are several opportunities where youth get to help serve at the local level, national level, and international level. We have two week long mission trips a year in the summer months. One is just for high schoolers and the other is for all the students. During the year, we do a 30-hour famine which benefits third world countries. Locally we help out cooking and serving dinners at a homeless shelter called HALO and we also help them sort out the donations that they receive. Another part of C.R.A.S.H. in Action is the 1st State Workcamp which is a workcamp that is held here in Ocean View area and we co-sponsor with Group Cares to help the families of this area that need repairs on their homes.
CRASH in Prayer
This is a group of youth who have a passion to pray for C.R.A.S.H. Students, our church, our community, and for anyone who needs prayer.
CRASH in Tune
This is our youth praise band. They use their musical talents at different events at our church, but also at other locations to bring praise to and for the Lord. If you know how to play any instruments and/or sing and would like to join, please let us know.
CRASH in Motion
This is a group of students who use stomp and dramas to share the word of God with others. They bring their talents to different events in the community and at different churches. Everyone is welcomed to join there is no experience needed. If you would be interested in C.R.A.S.H. in Motion coming to your church or event to share the word of God through their talents please contact Christina Wilson.
As a youth group there are several different events and trips that we attend during this year. These include: YOUTH RALLY- This is the first weekend in January in Ocean City, MD where there are bands and an incredible speaker at the Ocean City Convention Center with the sole purpose of growing deeper in Christ. SKI RETREATS- A time to have fun and learn how to ski while also growing spiritually. FAITH IN ACTION-Where youth get to learn more about homelessness and what the can do to make a difference. CHRYSALIS WEEKEND-This is a weekend that lifts up a way for you to enjoy Christ’s friendship and love and to be Christ’s friend and partner in the world. The three days focus on God’s grace, your experience with Christ as friend, what it means to be the body of Christ, and giving love to a needy world. There is a girls weekend and also a weekend for the boys.
This is a 10 week class where students learn more about their faith, the United Methodist denomination, and their spiritual gifts. They also deepen their spiritual walk with the Lord. At the end of the 10 weeks the students are confirmed and considered to be members of Mariners Bethel and the United Methodist Church.
